AFAIK, Supra folks are swapping in th400's also, and we have that option as well. What is it that a Supra provides here that the Z does not? For that matter, then, why not forget all of the Japanese cars and just get a back-half domestic car with a big block? It will be cheaper, easier, and faster than the Supra or the Z. Therefore, I don't follow that logic either. My point is this: - Some folks believe that the Z transmission is inadequate. - Various options to rectify this are easier than others. - Swapping in an existing streetable race transmission (whether manual or automatic) is a better solution than a $10K race manual or trying to internally rebuild the Z trans.
